Monk, Amerika USA Network kanalında yayınlanan, komedi ağırlıklı bir polisiye dizisidir. Türkiye'de Digiturk platformunda Dizimax kanalında yayınlanır.
Adrian Monk, obsesif-kompalsif, yani takıntılı kişiliğe sahip özel bir dedektiftir. Karısının bir cinayete kurban gitmesi, obsesif-kompalsif rahatsızlığını tetiklemiştir. Mikroplara, kalabalığa, dağınıklığa karşı müthiş korkuları ve takıntıları vardır. Bu sebeple de polis teşkilatından ayrılıp özel dedektifliğe başlamıştır.
Monk'un en büyük özelliği ise güçlü görsel hafızası, en ince detayları yakalayabilmesi ve en ufak ipucundan sonuç çıkarabilmesiyle her türlü olayı çözebilmesidir. Karısının cinayeti ise çözemediği tek davadır, ki dizi boyunca hala bu cinayeti çözmeye çalışacaktır. Bunun dışında San Francisco polis teşkilatında ki davalara danışmanlık yapar. Polis teşkilatı şefi Shottlemeyer'ın en zor davalarda ilk başvurduğu isim, eski elemanı Monk'tur.
Monk, yayın hayatı boyunca 5 Emmy ödülü kazanırken 6 kezde Emmy'e aday gösterilmiştir. 1 kezde Altın Küre kazanırken aynı ödüle 4 kezde aday gösterilmiştir.
