Desperate Housewives, Amerikan ABC televizyonunda, Türkiye'de ise Cnbc-e ve e2 kanallarında yayınlanan bir komedi drama dizisidir. Türkiye'de ki adıyla Ümitsiz Ev Kadınları, 2004'ten beri yayın hayatını sürdürmektedir.
Desperate Housewives, beklenmedik bir ÅŸekilde intihar eden Mary Alice Young'ın, Wisteria Lane'de yaÅŸayan 4 yakın arkadaşının yaÅŸadıkları olayları, sırları ve entrikaları dizinin arka planında anlatmasıyla süren bir dizidir.
Susan Mayer, 2 kız büyütmeye çalışan dul bir ev kadınıdır. Ä°çlerinden en umutsuzu olarak görünür ve bir türlü aradığı aÅŸkı bulamaz. Lynette Scavo çok baÅŸarılı bir iÅŸ kadınıyken 4 çocuÄŸunun olmasıyla beraber iÅŸ kadınlığından ev kadınlığına transfer olmuÅŸtur. Bree Van De Kamp, temizlik, düzen ve yemek saplantısı olan bir ev kadınıdır. Bu sebeple sık sık sinir krizleri geçirir. Gabrielle Solis, eski bir modeldir. Zengin bir politikacı olan Carlos ile evlendikten sonra evinin kadını olmuÅŸtur ama bu evlilik Gabrielle için hiçte doÄŸru bir tercih deÄŸildir.
Desperate Housewives, yayın hayatı boyunca 6 Emmy Ödülü ve 2 Altın Küre kazanmış, Amerika'nın en çok tutulan ve ses getiren dizilerinden biridir. Dizinin 9 sezon sürmesi planlanmaktadır.
