Babylon 5, 1994-1997 yılları arasında PTEN (Prime Time Entertainment Network), son sezonu ise 1998 yılında TNT kanalında yayınlanmış bir bilimkurgu dizisidir.
Babylon 5, Dünya Minbari savaşından on yıl sonrasını anlatıyor ve 2258 yılında geçiyor. Babylon 5 ise kainata barışı getirmeye çalışan bir uzay istasyonudur. Babylon 5'ın komutasında bulunan Komutan Sinclair'in başlıca görevi ırklar arası barışı sağlamak, gezegenler arası ticaret ve diplomasi ilişkilerini düzenlemektir.
Dizide ki başlıca ırklardan bahsedecek olursak bunlar İnsanlar, Minbariler, Centauriler, Narnlar, Vorlonlar ve Shadowlar'dır. Minbariler Japon kültürüne yakın bir ırktır, Centauriler ise Avrupalılar'ı anımsatır. Orta doğu halkına benzeyen Nornlar ise vahşi olmalarına karşın son derece onurlu bir ırktır.
Dizinin yaratıcısı J. Michael Straczynski, daha diziyi planlarken 5 sezon olarak projelendirmiş ve olay kurgusunu bu 5 sezona yayarak mükemmel bir kurgu ortaya çıkarmıştır. Kurgusu dışında 90 yıllara göre oldukça gelişmiş bir görselliğe sahip olan Babylon 5, yayınlandığı ilk sezonda oyuncu makyajlarıyla Emmy Ödülleri'nde en iyi dizi ödülünü kazanmıştır. 1995, 96 ve 97 senelerinde de Emmy Ödülleri'ne aday gösterilmiştir. Emmy dışında da bir çok bilimkurgu ödülünü müzesine götürmüştür.
